Q&A: Kenneth Hasbrouck

Kenneth Hasbrouck,

Founder and owner of Allied Locksmith

Q: How do you feel about the media attention that Jason West’s marriages attracted?

A: I thought it was unwanted and gave us unnecessary notoriety. It made New Paltz look stupid.

Q: How do you feel about what he did as a whole?

A: He didn’t do anything wrong, but the way he did it was not needed. It shouldn’t have been such an obvious act. New Paltz doesn’t need to be known as the “gay community.”

Q: How do you think things have changed since then in the town?

A: We became known as a “gay place,” but New Paltz is just a nice place for people to live.
